Not PetSmart, Not PetCo please....

I'm looking for opinions from actual customers hopefully. The recent pet food scare has me committed to buying better food. And I was unhappy to find some of the one's I thought were "better" on that recall list.

So, do you buy natural pet food in Chicago? Where? What do you think of the place? What brand of food? Prices?

I have 4 cats and a large dog to feed.

Thank you for answering this thread :-)

I know you are reluctant to buy from Petco or Petsmart but they have taken great care to remove every can from their stores that are bad. I understand you still dont want to buy any of the brands that went bad. "Just in case." Many people are doing that now.

My suggestion to you would be to buy Natural Balance dog and cat food as it was not on the list. It's all natural and it uses unique ingredients like lamb, venison, duck, fish, rice, barley, potatoes, and even vegetarian. Its a very good food if your pets have any allergies that you may or may not know about. They also make a line of can food that they say is good enough for people to eat right along side their dogs. It comes in dry bags, wet cans, and semi-wet rolls and in many flavors.

Try checking out their website for more infomation.

The best food I've found is Bil-Jac. It is more expensive per bag than others but you use less so it's actually cheaper in the long run. The scare was only with wet food, I believe, and it has been pulled from the shelves. Oh and Bil-Jac wasn't on the list.

I'm sure after this scare, stores all over will be more careful.

I'm sure Petco won't go out of bus.
